Putting your web site out there is extremely easy. If you know about programming you shouldn’t even be reading this. Anyway, if you don’t know much about programming, there are many sites builders that can help you build your website, it does not matter if you can’t write any code, the only thing that matters is what how you want your website to be and what you want it to do.

This is the moment when you start making decisions.

  1. Are you planning on monetizing your website?

If the answer is…

“NO” then you don’t need to get a host, and probably you don’t need a personal domain either, you can go directly to website creators which can function as hosts too. For this, you can try Weebly or  (It’s free, because they put ads in your website and you can neither take them away nor put your own)

“YES” If you want to make money, you’ll have to upgrade to a paying account or an external host; that way, you can do whatever you want with it.

  1. Are you willing to spend a lot of time learning how to use the website builder? Or you just want to “do your thing”.

Website builders you may like to create your site:

If you want it to be as quick as possible, try Weebly; its platform is really simple, pretty much like: drag the icon of “video or whatever” and drop it wherever you want, that’s it. It won’t take you long before you can have your own website ready. Perfect for Blogs and relatively “simple” functions.

If you are willing to spend some time learning how to use the platform, try WordPress (if you already have a host, you can administrate it with WordPress for free, or pay for a Premium account and avoid paying an external host). The pros of WP are: Pretty much everybody uses WP, so tech support is easy to find, as well as tutorials and information. Due to its plug-ins and other services, your website will be easy to find by browsers. Cons: It is a bit more complicated to use. Anyway, after learning the basics, you can create really good stuff with it, like blogs, online stores, etc.

Two more things:

  1. You have to learn about plugins, they’ll do all the job for you (A post on it is coming soon)
  2. Some Hosts let you install the whole thing with 1  click, WordPress included and all for a cheap price (the host where this web page is) you might want to check it out here
